Editor's Welcome
Dear Colleague,
It is my pleasure to invite you to our annual Defence/Industry event, the ADM 2012 Congress in Canberra 21-22 February 2012.
The ADM 2012 Congress aims to put the spotlight on opportunities in the Defence Capability Plan and explore how both Defence and Defence Industry will need to become more efficient to operate in a period of high ADF operational tempo and under budget constraints. Given the recent organisational changes announced over the past 12 months, it will be an ideal opportunity to assess how the new structure is settling down.
We face a new set of strategic, budgetary and technology challenges for which both Defence and Industry need to prepare. The ADM 2012 Congress aims to address all of these issues by inviting the best and most insightful speakers from the Defence community – and also by tackling complex and contentious topics.
The 2012 ADM DMO/Industry Team of the Year Awards for Excellence, which will be presented during the Congress annual dinner, continue to be a team effort between ADM and the DMO. These awards aim to support the strong relationship between project teams and their industry counterparts in delivering capability to the warfighter. We have spent significant time since last year streamlining the awards process and event dinner to allow more networking and socialising time.
This is all part of the process of making the ADM Congress as relevant as possible and ensuring it remains a channel for communication between the key players shaping the future of Australia’s Defence and Industry environment.
As the ADM team has emphasised many times before – it’s our combined future so, once again, I invite you to participate in the Congress.
I look forward to seeing you at ADM 2012.
